Food and Allergies

I have dozens of food allergies, some severe and some mild. I’ve decided since I’m now blogging I should keep a daily log of what I eat to keep an eye on my reactions. Yesterday, I got food from the local food bank, and make the mistake of allowing temptation to overcome my willpower. Rather than give the cake to my neighbor, I opened it. I ate some of it and then gorged on it, which caused me to get very sick. Immediate symptoms were nausea and stomach cramps due to the amount I ate which is actually a good thing because it made me throw up, saving me from the horrible joint pain and hemorrhoids that would have come later. Yes, I know, TMI, but this is the first blog so I needed to write the details.

A few hours later when I was feeling strong enough to stand for a bit, I made hot sausage (no sugar or soy), crumbled, in a base of diced tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and red peppers, seasoned with copious amounts of curry powder, garlic paste and a little cilantro paste. I had some for dinner last night. It seemed to set well with me.

I was experiencing high anxiety from my earlier bout with the sugar-and-egg-laden cake, so I took 2 benadryl to allow myself to sleep. I slept for 10 hours, although my fitbit says I was awake for about half that time due to my elevated heart rate and inability to stay still. Fitbit logged 20 minutes in the exercise “zone” while I was asleep, lol.

Today I added a can each of peas, carrots and corn because they were given to me and I needed to use them up. I generally don’t care for canned veggies, so putting them into a stew of some sort is a patalable option.
